When you or your loved one is in the hospital facing unknown, and potentially terminal issues… this is what you want:

You want a parade of experts hustling in and out of the room – Each entering with displayed optimism and leaving with assured confidence.

You want them to meet, collaborate, discuss, review, cross analyze and ensure you’re getting the best of care.

You want the world being moved to make things right.

More than that though, you want healing.

“A woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years.  She had suffered a great deal under the care of doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse.  When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, ‘If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.  Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.  At once Jesus realized that the power had gone out from him…” Mark 5:25 – 29

Sadly, this story isn’t about a woman who had the world moved for her… It’s a about a woman, who in spite of her health, was having the world taken away from her.  For 12 years, she suffered at the hands of doctors, gurus, and experts who gladly took her money while giving her false hopes…

Hope against Hope

Yet, hope against hope, she had the gumption to reach out again.  All she had had been taken from her.  Had she touched Jesus with nothing happening – would she have lost her hope as well?

Maybe you’re not struggling with your health?  Maybe you’re struggling at work, in your relationships (or lack thereof)?  Maybe you’re battling depression or addiction?

Have you read enough books?

Have you listened to enough guru’s yet?

Have they helped, or are they selling you on their next book/course/session/shiny object?

Maybe it’s time to turn to Jesus instead.

Maybe you won’t see immediate results like this woman in the scripture.  Maybe you will – only God knows.

BUT that is the point!  HE KNOWS!

For me, it’s always been a question of how I can best serve people and bring home the proverbial bacon.  I’ve struggled with this, but I can tell you this with assured confidence.  God provides.

In fact, the reason I’ve title this blog ‘Displayedfaith‘ is because I have chosen to live this life God has given me as a display of faith.

Final Thought:

One obvious side note to this should be self evident.  I am not advocating for ignorance.  Experts are God’s creation as well, and He has gifted them with their expertise.  Just don’t put your hope in them first…
